Dear
AVS: Just wanted you to know that I found my husbands old Navy buddy,
after trying for many years.
I submitted another message to your Bulletin Board, and that evening another "good patriot" emailed
me back to say he lived near the birth place of the guy I was searching for, and to "hold on" he was
going to make some calls,
I did not get my hopes up, because I had called every name in the Telephone directory that was
listed with that last name. I was afraid our FRED was deceased . I have spent alot of money thru other agencies to no
avail. I became of member of AVS last year.
Anyway, Al Brown from Talladega, Alabama found our FRED in 1 /2 of a day, emailed me back, after talking to Fred and he was
just as anxious to speak to my husband,
they have not seen each other since the late 50's. It was a great reunion,
my husband is not one to tear-up easily but he did talking to FRED. He did not have any idea of my
search, so he was doubly surprised, I cried too.
We have made plans to visit FRED, when we
return to Alabama; our plans have been to retire and move back to "God's Country" (Alabama) and FRED retired
from the USAF and went back to his roots also, and lives 2 hours drive from our farm. We couldn't believe it.
I e-mailed our angel "Al Brown" and told him we plan to take him out to lunch as we travel to see FRED, Al lives on the same route.
He is a WWII and Korean VET, and just started on the (as he calls it) "putter". He said to excuse his
spelling, etc, but I did not care, as long as it is even close to the English language, all miss-spelled words are
forgiven. I owe him a big HUG.
Thanks to
AVS
for providing this great service. My father was a WWII Vet and very patriotic, he left a loving wife and 3 children to serve his country,
was gone 18 months, so I grew up praising our VETERANS.
Best Regards,
Lydia

Jack---Thanks again for locating one of the guys my husband served with in Vietnam.
Even after 30+ years,
these men still have vivid memories of the good times and almost all are still trying to deal with the 'bad' times.
Last week was especially difficult for my husband but the phone call he made to his old
Captain was great.
We've seen how great
AVS
works and encourage others to sign up!!!!!

Thank you to Jack, Rich & the
AVS
team!!!! You found my father's friend from 40 years ago.
I can't express how happy
I am that you have made my father's day. I tried looking via the internet for the past couple of years with no success.
This is a great benefit for
any veteran. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. I started looking for Kehoe a couple of years ago.
We sort of fell into your site when I was in vva.com. I cannot tell you how
happy I am that you were able to find Kehoe for him.
My mother passed away two months ago and
this was a great boost for him. I would shout info about your organization from the rooftops if I could.
I will contact the local new media to see if they will do a story on your site.
If someone wants to make a donation to your organization, how would you like that done?
Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.

Dear Jack: I signed your guest book last week and submitted the names of "lost" veterans of the Big Spring Veterans Bombardier Class of 45-11B. The very next morning when I checked my email I found four
messages from you.
You had located four veterans and sent me their phone numbers. I couldn't believe how fast you located them and even
one was named Brown which would be like finding a needle in a haystack.
Do you realize that we had spent nearly six months trying to locate these classmates. We had found a lot by checking all the Search programs on
the internet and by checking the Social Security Death Records Index.
Just think of how hard we had worked and had we known about your
VeteranSearch.com we could have saved many hours of research.
We still have close to 20 left to locate and you say you have a handle on some of them.
Thanks again and again, Jack.

Jack and crew: After I left you an email I just wanted everyone to know who they are dealing with.
Pay attention everyone: You are dealing with greased lightning. Less than 24 hrs. after I posted 3 guys to
find I get this great email telling me Jack and crew had found 1 who knows where another one is. It has snowballed. After talking to Appy I had this
great feeling of content.
You guys have lifted my hopes of finding many others of the 2/94 Arty. I have no way of showing my appreciation for work
and the speed at which it was done. Thanks a million times over. I have taken the liberty of writing a story of how your assistance has helped a vet
get in touch with his friends after too many years. This letter is going to my local news agency and
I'm sure it will help other vets find their friends. Thanks again you will never be forgotten in my lifetime. Duffy 2/94 Arty.

Jack, I wanted to thank you for your successful efforts which allowed me to contact two Navy buddies I've not seen for 45 years.
It was great to talk to them and find out where they lived.
(One of them had the same ZIP code as my mothers! The other lived in a town I drove through
every time my wife and I drove to the "old homestead" My wife and I are
planning a trip this summer which will take us to see them both. I have some advice to other veterans. I was surprised to learn that one of
my buddies is 70 and the other is 68 (my age).
I had no idea we were all getting so old! If you'd like to talk to someone you knew a long time ago in
the service, NOW is the time. Thanks again
AVS and I' ll let you know how the reunion goes.
If this note ends up available to AVS members I'd like to hear from "fifties"
personnel of VP 49 or VF 14. These people might also be interested in the fact that both squadrons have websites and, apparently, unofficial
squadron historians.
